Peterbilt 388 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 388 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Will these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories fit my Peterbilt 388?

Products in this category are designed to fit the Peterbilt 388 model, but exact fitment can vary depending on cab configuration, production year, and whether your truck has factory or aftermarket components already installed. Always check the fitment notes on each product listing and compare measurements to your existing parts before ordering.

What materials are these parts made from, and how do they hold up over time?

Windshield trim, wiper components, and roof accessories are typically made from materials like stainless steel, aluminum, or durable plastics and rubber compounds, depending on the specific part. Stainless and aluminum pieces generally resist corrosion well and are a popular choice for long-term durability, while rubber and plastic components such as wiper blades or seals are built to withstand UV exposure and temperature changes but will wear over time with regular use.

How difficult is it to install windshield, wiper, or roof accessories myself?

Many items in this category, such as visors, trim pieces, and wiper arms, are designed for straightforward installation using basic hand tools and existing mounting points. However, some roof accessories or windshield components may require drilling, sealing, or more involved bracket work. If you are unsure about the installation process for a specific part, it is a good idea to consult the product instructions or have a qualified technician assist you.

Will adding roof accessories or trim affect my truck's weather sealing or cause leaks?

Properly installed windshield and roof accessories should not compromise your cab's weather sealing, but improper installation, especially anything that requires drilling into the roof or windshield frame, can create a risk of leaks if not sealed correctly. Using quality sealant where recommended and following manufacturer installation guidance helps minimize this risk.

Are these accessories purely cosmetic, or do they also improve functionality?

This category includes both functional and cosmetic products. Items like wiper blades, wiper arms, and windshield seals directly affect visibility and performance in wet or harsh weather. Other accessories, such as visors and roof trim, are often chosen for appearance and to give the truck a customized look while offering some benefit like reduced glare or sun exposure.
