Peterbilt 387 Sleeper Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 387 Sleeper Roof Acc.

What kinds of products are included in this category?

This category covers roof-mounted accessories designed specifically for the sleeper section of the Peterbilt 387, including items such as roof fairings, air deflectors, marker light panels, roof cab panels, and related trim and hardware. These parts are built to match the contours of the 387 sleeper roof for a factory-style fit and appearance.

Will these parts fit my specific Peterbilt 387 configuration?

Most items in this category are designed for the Peterbilt 387 sleeper cab, but fitment can vary depending on sleeper size, roof height, and whether your truck has a stand-up or flat-top sleeper. Always check the product description for the specific sleeper style and dimensions it is designed for, and compare those measurements to your own truck before ordering. If you are unsure, reach out to our support team with your VIN or truck specs for confirmation.

What materials are these roof accessories made from, and how durable are they?

Roof accessories in this category are typically made from durable materials such as fiberglass, ABS plastic, or aluminum, depending on the specific part. Fiberglass and ABS components are often used for fairings and panels because they can be molded to match the truck's roofline, while metal components are used where additional strength is needed. Most parts are designed to hold up to normal highway driving conditions, but exposure to extreme weather, road debris, or improper installation can affect long-term durability.

Do these products come pre-painted, or will I need to paint them myself?

Availability varies by product. Some roof accessories are sold in a raw, unpainted finish (gel-coat or primed) so they can be color-matched to your truck, while others may be offered as pre-finished or paintable ABS. Check the individual product listing for finish details before purchasing, and plan for paint and prep work if the item ships unpainted.

What is involved in installing a sleeper roof accessory, and can I do it myself?

Installation complexity depends on the specific accessory. Many roof panels, fairings, and light brackets are designed to bolt on or adhere to existing mounting points using included or commonly available hardware, making them accessible for experienced DIY installers with basic tools. However, some parts may require drilling, sealing, or working at height on the cab roof, so using proper safety equipment and following any included instructions is important. If a listing does not include detailed instructions or you are unsure about the process, our customer service team can help point you toward guidance or a qualified installer.
