Peterbilt 387 Floor Covers & Mats

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 387 Floor Covers & Mats

Will these floor mats fit my Peterbilt 387 without modification?

Floor mats and covers in this category are designed to match the floorboard layout of the Peterbilt 387, including areas around the pedals, doghouse, and sleeper transition. Because trim levels and floor configurations can vary slightly by production year, it's a good idea to check the product description and measurements against your cab before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

What materials are these floor covers made from?

Most floor covers and mats for the Peterbilt 387 are made from durable rubber or heavy-duty vinyl designed to handle daily wear, moisture, and debris common in a working truck cab. Rubber options tend to offer better durability and are easier to clean, while some covers may include added texture or padding for comfort and slip resistance.

Are these mats easy to install and remove for cleaning?

Yes, floor mats and covers are generally designed as a drop-in or snap-in fit that does not require tools or permanent attachment. This makes them simple to lift out for hosing off, vacuuming, or replacing when worn. Some full floor covers may require removing seats or trim panels for the most precise installation, so it's worth reviewing any included instructions before starting.

Will floor mats help protect the original flooring or reduce noise?

Floor covers help shield the factory flooring from dirt, moisture, salt, and general wear that build up over time, which can extend the life of the cab's interior. Many drivers also find that heavier rubber mats add a layer of insulation that can help dampen road noise and vibration compared to a bare or worn factory floor.

How do I clean and maintain rubber or vinyl floor mats?

Rubber and vinyl floor mats can typically be removed and rinsed with water, then scrubbed with a mild soap and brush to remove caked-on dirt or grime. Allowing the mats to fully dry before reinstalling helps prevent moisture from getting trapped against the cab floor, which can contribute to odors or corrosion over time.
