Peterbilt 375/377 Mirrors & Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 375/377 Mirrors & Acc.

Will these mirrors and mirror accessories fit my Peterbilt 375 or 377 without modification?

Most mirrors and brackets listed in this category are designed to match the OEM mounting points and arm configurations used on the 375 and 377 models. However, mirror setups can vary depending on the year, cab style, and whether your truck originally came with a hood-mounted, door-mounted, or cowl-mounted mirror arm. Check the product description and, if you are unsure, compare the part number or measurements to your existing mirror assembly before ordering.

What materials and finish options are available for these mirrors and brackets?

You will typically find mirror heads, brackets, and arms available in chrome-plated steel, stainless steel, and painted or primer-black finishes. Chrome and stainless options are popular for matching factory bright trim, while painted or black finishes suit trucks with a blacked-out or custom look. Material choice can also affect durability, so consider your climate and how much road exposure the mirror will see.

Are heated and remote-control mirror options available, and are they easy to wire in?

Many mirror assemblies in this category offer heated glass or remote-adjust features. These typically use a wiring harness that connects into your existing mirror wiring circuit, so installation is usually straightforward if your truck was originally equipped with heated or remote mirrors. If your truck did not come with that wiring, you may need to run additional wiring or a relay, so check the product notes for any wiring requirements before purchasing.

How do I install a replacement mirror arm or mirror head, and do I need special tools?

Installation generally involves unbolting the old mirror arm or head from the mounting bracket and bolting on the new one, using basic hand tools such as wrenches and sockets. Some assemblies are a direct bolt-on using the factory holes, while others may require you to transfer hardware from your old mirror. We recommend reviewing any included instructions and keeping the old mounting hardware on hand in case it is needed for the new part.

Do convex or auxiliary mirrors help with blind spots, and are they legal to add?

Convex and auxiliary mirrors are commonly added to improve visibility along the sides and rear of the trailer, helping reduce blind spots during lane changes and backing. Adding auxiliary mirrors is generally accepted as long as your factory-required mirrors remain in place and unobstructed, but you should confirm any specific requirements with your fleet safety policy or local regulations before making changes to your mirror setup.
