Peterbilt 375/377 Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 375/377 Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my Peterbilt 375 or 377 without modification?

Cab lights in this category are designed to match the factory mounting locations and hole patterns used on the Peterbilt 375 and 377 cab roofline. As long as your truck has the factory cab light bar or mounting holes, these lights should install without drilling or cutting. If your cab has been modified or the original lights were removed and holes filled, you may need to re-drill to the original spacing.

What type of bulbs do these cab lights use, and are LED options available?

Cab lights are available in both incandescent and LED versions, depending on the specific product listed. LED cab lights typically offer longer bulb life and lower amp draw compared to incandescent versions. Be sure to check the individual product listing to confirm bulb type, as well as whether bulbs are included or sold separately.

Are these cab lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Most cab lights sold in this category are amber or clear marker lights intended for identification and are designed to meet FMVSS 108 requirements when installed and wired correctly. However, compliance can depend on lens color, light output, and proper wiring to your truck's marker light circuit. Always verify the specifications on the product page and check your local and DOT regulations if you have questions about a specific installation.

How difficult is it to install and wire new cab lights?

Installation is generally straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic electrical work. Most cab lights mount using the existing holes in the cab light bar and connect to your truck's existing marker light wiring harness. You will typically need basic hand tools, wire connectors, and possibly a test light to confirm proper polarity before finalizing the connection. If your truck's wiring harness has been altered from stock, some splicing or adapter wiring may be necessary.

What housing and lens materials are used, and how well do they hold up over time?

Cab light housings are commonly made from chrome-plated plastic or metal, while lenses are typically made from durable polycarbonate or acrylic to withstand vibration, road debris, and weather exposure. Chrome housings help match the look of factory and aftermarket trim, but like any exterior lighting component, they can fade or cloud over time with prolonged UV exposure. Regular cleaning and avoiding harsh abrasive cleaners will help maintain appearance and light output longer.
