Peterbilt 359 Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 359 Dash Knobs

What are Peterbilt 359 dash knobs used for?

These knobs are the control handles for various dash-mounted switches and levers inside the cab, including items like headlight switches, heater and defroster controls, wiper controls, and other manual dash functions. They are primarily a functional and cosmetic replacement part for worn, cracked, or missing original knobs.

Will these knobs fit my Peterbilt 359 without modification?

Most dash knobs in this category are designed to match the fitment of factory Peterbilt 359 controls, but because dash configurations can vary by model year and cab setup, it's important to check the shaft size, thread type, or mounting style listed in the product details before ordering. If you're unsure, comparing your existing knob's measurements to the product specs is the best way to confirm a proper fit.

What materials are these dash knobs made from?

Dash knobs are typically made from chrome-plated plastic, aluminum, or die-cast metal, depending on the specific product. Metal and chrome-plated options tend to offer a more durable, heavy-duty feel and a finish that closely matches other chrome accents commonly found in Peterbilt interiors.

How do I install a replacement dash knob?

Installation is usually straightforward and can be done without special tools. Most knobs simply pull off, unscrew, or release with a small set screw or retaining clip. Once the old knob is removed, the new one is pushed on, screwed down, or secured in the same manner. If your knob uses a set screw, a small Allen wrench or screwdriver may be needed.

Will a new dash knob match the rest of my interior trim?

Since finishes can vary slightly between manufacturers and materials, it's a good idea to compare the knob's finish (such as polished chrome or brushed metal) to your existing interior trim before purchasing. Many customers choose to replace multiple knobs at once to maintain a consistent look across the dash.
