Mack CV/GU Truck Exhaust Parts

Frequently Asked Questions About Mack CV/GU Truck Exhaust Parts

What exhaust components are available for Mack CV/GU trucks?

This category covers exhaust system parts for Mack CV and GU series trucks, including exhaust pipes, stacks, elbows, mufflers, clamps, brackets, and heat shields. These parts are designed to fit the specific exhaust routing and mounting points used on CV and GU model trucks.

How do I know if an exhaust part will fit my specific Mack CV or GU truck?

Fit can vary depending on the exact model year, engine configuration, and cab style of your Mack CV or GU truck. Check the diameter, length, and mounting style listed in the product details against your existing exhaust component before ordering. If you are unsure, having your VIN or truck specs on hand can help confirm the correct part.

What materials are these exhaust parts made from, and how durable are they?

Most exhaust components in this category are made from aluminized or stainless steel to handle high heat and resist corrosion from road salt, moisture, and exhaust byproducts. Stainless steel options generally offer better long-term corrosion resistance, while aluminized steel provides a durable, cost-effective alternative.

Can I install these exhaust parts myself, or do I need a professional?

Many exhaust parts such as clamps, brackets, and straight pipe sections can be installed with basic hand tools if you are comfortable working underneath a truck. However, parts that involve cutting, welding, or precise alignment with the exhaust manifold or turbo are often best handled by a qualified technician to ensure a proper seal and safe fit.

Will replacing exhaust parts affect my truck's emissions compliance?

Exhaust components should be replaced with parts that maintain the same configuration as your truck's original system to stay compliant with emissions regulations. Avoid modifying or removing emissions-related components like DPF or DEF system parts unless you are certain the change meets applicable federal and state regulations for your vehicle.
