Kenworth W990 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W990 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Will these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories fit my Kenworth W990 without modification?

Products in this category are designed specifically for the Kenworth W990, so fitment is generally direct for that model. However, cab configuration, model year, and factory options can affect fit on certain items like wiper arms, sun visors, or roof-mounted accessories. Always check the product description for specific year ranges or cab style notes before ordering, and reach out to our team if you are unsure about compatibility with your truck.

What materials are these parts made from, and how do they hold up to weather and road conditions?

Depending on the item, you will find components made from materials like stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, aluminum, or heavy-duty rubber and polycarbonate for wiper blades and seals. Stainless and chrome pieces resist corrosion and are built to handle sun, rain, and road debris, while rubber and polycarbonate components are chosen for flexibility and durability under regular use. If a listing specifies a particular finish or material, that information reflects what the manufacturer provides.

Can I install these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories myself, or do I need a professional?

Many items in this category, such as visors, wiper arms, blades, and trim pieces, are designed for straightforward bolt-on or clip-on installation using basic hand tools. Some roof-mounted accessories or larger trim panels may require an extra set of hands or more involved mounting due to their size and position on the cab. If a product involves drilling, sealing, or electrical connections, we recommend reviewing the included instructions carefully or having a qualified technician handle the install to avoid leaks or damage.

Will adding roof or windshield accessories affect my truck's warranty or DOT compliance?

Aftermarket accessories generally do not void your Kenworth factory warranty on unrelated systems, but installation that involves drilling into the cab or roof could impact warranty coverage in that specific area, so it is worth checking with your dealer if your truck is still under warranty. For DOT compliance, make sure any wiper, visor, or windshield accessory does not obstruct your field of view or interfere with required lighting, mirrors, or markers, since driver visibility requirements are strictly enforced.

How do I keep these parts looking good and working properly over time?

Routine cleaning with mild soap and water helps keep chrome and stainless pieces free of road grime and prevents corrosion from setting in. Wiper blades should be inspected regularly for cracking or hardening and replaced when they no longer clear the windshield effectively. For roof accessories and trim, periodically check mounting hardware to make sure everything stays secure, especially after long hauls or exposure to rough roads.
