Kenworth W990 Gauges & Switches

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W990 Gauges & Switches

Will these gauges and switches fit my Kenworth W990 without modification?

Products in this category are designed to match the factory dash layout and wiring configuration used in the Kenworth W990, so they typically install using the existing mounting points and connectors. That said, build specifications can vary by model year and trim package, so it's a good idea to confirm your dash configuration and VIN details before ordering to ensure a direct fit.

What finish and material options are available for gauges and switch bezels?

Many gauge faces, bezels, and switch covers are available in chrome, stainless, and black finishes to match different interior trim levels. Materials commonly include durable plastics for gauge housings and metal or chrome-plated components for switch plates and bezels, giving you options that hold up to daily cab use while keeping a clean factory-style appearance.

How do I install a replacement gauge or switch, and do I need any special tools?

Most gauges and switches are designed for straightforward installation using basic hand tools, since they're built to slide into existing dash cutouts and connect to factory wiring harnesses. However, because dash panels often need to be removed to access wiring, we recommend having some familiarity with your truck's electrical system or consulting a wiring diagram before starting the job.

Are these gauges and switches accurate and reliable for daily use?

The gauges and switches in this category are built to provide reliable performance for everyday operation, whether you're monitoring engine parameters or controlling cab functions. As with any electrical component, proper installation and secure wiring connections play a big role in accuracy and long-term reliability, so double-check connections during installation.

Can I use aftermarket gauges and switches to add functions not included in my original dash setup?

Yes, many customers use this category to add auxiliary switches or gauges for functions like extra lighting, air horns, or additional monitoring beyond the factory setup. Before adding new components, check that your electrical system has adequate capacity and that any new wiring is properly fused and grounded to avoid overloading existing circuits.
