Kenworth W990 Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W990 Dash Knobs

What are dash knobs used for on the Kenworth W990?

Dash knobs are the control knobs used on the dashboard to operate functions such as headlights, HVAC controls, wipers, and other switches. They are often replaced to upgrade the look of the cab or to replace worn, cracked, or missing factory knobs.

Will these knobs fit my Kenworth W990 without modification?

Most dash knobs listed in this category are designed to fit factory control shafts and switch stems found in the Kenworth W990. However, dash configurations can vary slightly depending on the model year and options package, so it's a good idea to compare the shaft size and knob style to your existing part before ordering.

Are these knobs made from durable materials?

Dash knobs in this category are typically made from chrome-plated plastic, billet aluminum, or durable ABS plastic, depending on the style and finish you choose. Metal and chrome-finished options generally offer a more heavy-duty feel and are popular for their long-lasting shine.

How do I install a new dash knob?

Installation is usually straightforward and does not require special tools. Most knobs simply pull off or unscrew from the existing shaft, and the new knob is pressed or screwed on in its place. If a knob is secured with a small set screw or retaining clip, a small screwdriver or hex key may be needed.

Can I mix and match knob styles, or should I replace them as a set?

You can certainly replace a single knob if only one is damaged or missing, but many customers choose to replace all dash knobs at once for a consistent, upgraded appearance throughout the cab. Buying a matching set also helps ensure uniform color, finish, and knob style across your dashboard.
