Kenworth T680 Cab, Sleeper & Cowl Panels

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T680 Cab, Sleeper & Cowl Panels

What exactly are cab, sleeper, and cowl panels?

These are the exterior body panels that make up the outer shell of your T680, including sections of the cab structure, sleeper compartment, and cowl area around the windshield and hood junction. They serve both structural and cosmetic purposes, covering wiring, framework, and insulation while giving the truck its finished exterior appearance.

Will these panels fit my specific T680 model year and configuration?

Kenworth made design changes to the T680 over different production years, and sleeper panels also vary depending on whether your truck has a mid-roof, high-roof, or day cab configuration. Always check the part description for listed year ranges and cab/sleeper type before ordering, and have your VIN or truck build sheet on hand if you need to confirm fitment with our team.

Are these panels made from the same material as the factory originals?

Most replacement panels are constructed from fiberglass, ABS plastic, or sheet metal, matching the material used in the corresponding factory location on the truck. Panel material can affect flexibility, weight, and how it holds paint, so check the product listing for specific material details before purchasing.

Do these panels come pre-painted or do I need to paint them myself?

Panels in this category are typically sold unpainted, in either primer-ready or raw finish. This gives you the flexibility to match your existing paint code, but it also means you should plan for paint and clear coat work as a separate step after installation.

How difficult is it to install a replacement panel, and can I do it myself?

Installation difficulty depends on the panel's location and whether it requires removing trim, lights, or interior components to access mounting points. Panels that bolt or clip into place are generally manageable for someone comfortable with basic bodywork, while panels involving structural bonding or complex fitment are often better handled by a body shop familiar with Kenworth cab construction.
