Kenworth T660 Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T660 Dash Knobs

What are dash knobs used for on the Kenworth T660?

Dash knobs are the control knobs used to operate various systems on your dashboard, including heating and air conditioning vents, headlight switches, dimmer controls, wiper controls, and other panel-mounted accessories. They are the small, hand-operated components that attach to the control shafts behind your dash panel.

Will these dash knobs fit my specific T660 model year?

Kenworth made changes to dash and control layouts across different production years of the T660, so knob shaft sizes, shapes, and mounting styles can vary. Before ordering, check the shaft type and diameter of your existing knob and compare it to the product specifications listed, or reach out to our team with your truck's year and VIN so we can help confirm the correct fit.

What materials and finishes are available for these knobs?

Dash knobs are typically available in materials such as chrome-plated plastic, aluminum, and durable ABS plastic. Finish options often include chrome, brushed metal, and black or wood-grain styles to match or upgrade the look of your existing dash. Choosing a metal or chrome-plated option can offer better resistance to fading and wear compared to standard plastic knobs.

How do I install a replacement dash knob?

Most dash knobs are designed for simple installation. In many cases, the old knob pulls or unscrews off the control shaft, and the new one presses or screws on in its place. Some knobs use a small retaining screw or clip that needs to be loosened before removal. Always confirm the attachment style of your specific knob before installing, since methods can differ between switch types and control functions.

Can dash knobs help personalize or upgrade the look of my interior?

Yes, many drivers replace worn, faded, or cracked stock knobs with upgraded versions in chrome, aluminum, or custom finishes to refresh the look of their dash. This is a straightforward and affordable way to improve the appearance of your cab without a full interior overhaul.
