Kenworth T300-T450 Dash Nuts & Screws

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T300-T450 Dash Nuts & Screws

What are dash nuts and screws used for on a Kenworth T300-T450?

These small fasteners are used to secure interior dash panels, trim pieces, gauge clusters, and other components to the dashboard frame. Over time they can strip, corrode, or go missing, making it necessary to replace them to keep the dash assembly tight and rattle-free.

Will these nuts and screws fit my specific Kenworth model year?

Kenworth made changes to dash designs across the T300-T450 lineup over the years, so fastener sizes and thread types can vary. Check the product listing for specific model and year compatibility, and compare the thread size and length to your existing hardware before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

What material are these fasteners made from, and will they hold up over time?

Dash nuts and screws are typically made from steel or stainless steel, often with a plated or zinc-coated finish to help resist corrosion. Since these fasteners are used in the cab interior rather than exposed to the elements, they are built to provide reliable, long-lasting hold under normal use.

How do I know if I need a nut, a screw, or both?

It depends on where the fastener is used in the dash assembly. Some mounting points use a screw threading directly into a captured nut or clip, while others require a separate nut and bolt combination. Refer to your dash panel or trim piece to identify the existing fastener type before ordering a replacement.

Can I install these dash nuts and screws myself, or do I need a mechanic?

Most dash nuts and screws are simple to install with basic hand tools like a screwdriver or small wrench, and do not require specialized equipment. As long as you match the correct size and thread pattern to the original hardware, most truck owners can complete this repair themselves without needing professional installation.
