Kenworth T2000 Hoods

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T2000 Hoods

Will this hood fit my Kenworth T2000 without modification?

Hoods in this category are manufactured to match the factory dimensions and mounting points of the Kenworth T2000, so they are designed for a direct fit. However, minor adjustments are common with any aftermarket body panel due to variations between production years, so it is a good idea to compare part numbers and measurements against your existing hood before ordering.

What material are these hoods made from, and how does it compare to the factory hood?

Kenworth T2000 replacement hoods are typically molded from fiberglass composite, similar to the original equipment used by the manufacturer. Fiberglass offers a good balance of durability and weight, and it can be sanded, primed, and painted to match your truck's existing color and finish.

Do these hoods come pre-painted or primed?

Most hoods are sold in a gel-coat or primed finish rather than painted to a specific color, since paint matching varies by truck. This allows you or your body shop to apply paint that matches your fleet or personal color scheme for a seamless look.

What is involved in installing a replacement hood?

Installation generally involves removing the damaged or worn hood from its hinge and latch mounts, then transferring or reinstalling hardware such as hinges, latches, and any brackets onto the new hood. Depending on your setup, you may also need to move over components like headlight assemblies, grille inserts, or air intake pieces. Most shops with body repair experience can complete the swap, though it is not typically a bolt-on job in the way smaller accessories are.

Will I need to transfer other parts from my old hood, or are they included?

In most cases, hardware such as hinges, latches, headlights, and trim pieces are not included with the replacement hood and will need to be removed from your old hood and reinstalled on the new one. Before ordering, check the product listing carefully to confirm exactly what is and is not included so you can plan for any additional parts you may need.
