International S1700-S1900 Interior Dash Trim

Frequently Asked Questions About International S1700-S1900 Interior Dash Trim

Will this dash trim fit my International S1700 or S1900 without modification?

Dash trim panels in this category are designed to match the factory dash layout for the International S Series (S1700/S1900) cab, so they generally align with the original mounting points, gauge cutouts, and switch openings. Because trucks of this era may have been customized or repaired over the years, it's a good idea to compare the panel dimensions and cutout locations against your existing trim before ordering, especially if your dash has been modified from stock.

What materials are these dash trim panels made from, and how durable are they?

Interior dash trim for these trucks is typically made from durable ABS plastic or similar molded composite material, chosen to hold up to daily wear, vibration, and temperature changes inside the cab. These materials are built to resist cracking and fading better than the original factory trim often does after years of sun exposure and heavy use.

Are these panels pre-finished, or will I need to paint or match them to my interior?

Most dash trim panels come in a standard finish, such as black or a factory-style texture, that closely resembles the original interior color scheme used in S1700/S1900 cabs. If your interior has a custom color or a faded original finish, you may want to paint or texture-match the new panel so it blends in seamlessly with the rest of your dash.

How difficult is it to install dash trim in this truck, and can I do it myself?

Installation is generally straightforward and can be done with basic hand tools by most owner-operators or shop technicians comfortable with interior work. That said, some panels may require removing gauges, switches, or trim clips to get proper access, so it helps to have a service manual or reference photos of your dash on hand before starting.

Will replacing a cracked or worn dash panel affect access to gauges, switches, or wiring behind it?

These trim panels are designed to fit around the existing gauge clusters, switch panels, and wiring harnesses, so replacing a damaged section typically does not require rerouting wiring or relocating components. You will still want to handle the removal and reinstallation carefully to avoid putting stress on connectors or harnesses tucked behind the dash.
