International HX Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About International HX Dash Knobs

What are International HX dash knobs used for?

These knobs are the control handles used inside the cab of International HX series trucks, typically operating functions like heater controls, vents, headlight switches, and dash-mounted accessories. They replace worn, cracked, or missing knobs so your dash controls look factory-correct and function properly.

Will these knobs fit my specific International HX model and year?

Dash knob designs can vary slightly between model years and trim levels, so it is important to check the shaft size, spline pattern, and knob style against your existing part before ordering. If you are unsure, comparing the old knob directly to the product photos and dimensions listed on the product page is the best way to confirm a proper match.

What materials are these dash knobs made from, and how durable are they?

Most replacement dash knobs are made from durable plastic or chrome-plated plastic designed to withstand daily handling and cab temperature changes. Chrome-finished options offer a more polished, upgraded look compared to factory black plastic, while still holding up to regular use.

How do I install a new dash knob?

Installation is generally straightforward and does not require special tools. Most knobs simply press on, twist on, or are secured with a small set screw or retaining clip onto the control shaft. Removing the old knob first and comparing the attachment method will help ensure a smooth, secure installation.

Can I use these knobs to upgrade the look of my dash, not just replace a broken one?

Yes, many customers choose chrome or styled dash knobs to freshen up the interior appearance of their International HX, even if the original knob is still functional. It is a simple, affordable way to add a custom touch to the cab.
