International 4700-4900 Floor Covers & Mats

Frequently Asked Questions About International 4700-4900 Floor Covers & Mats

Will these floor mats fit my International 4700 or 4900 without modification?

Floor covers and mats in this category are designed to match the factory floor pan layout of the International 4700 and 4900 models. However, floor configurations can vary slightly depending on year, cab style, and whether your truck has a manual or automatic transmission with different pedal or shifter cutouts. Always check the fitment notes on each product listing and compare them to your cab configuration before ordering.

What material are these floor covers made from, and how durable is it?

Most floor covers and mats for this application are made from heavy-duty rubber or vinyl material designed to withstand daily wear, dirt, moisture, and temperature changes inside the cab. Rubber options tend to offer better resistance to cracking and fading over time, while vinyl covers can provide a cleaner, more finished look. Check the specific product description for the exact material used, as options can vary between listings.

Do these mats help protect the original cab floor from rust or wear?

Yes, one of the main purposes of a floor cover is to shield the factory floor pan from moisture, road salt, spilled liquids, and general wear that can lead to rust or deterioration over time. Installing a floor cover is a simple way to extend the life of the original flooring, especially in trucks that see heavy daily use.

How difficult is it to install a floor cover or mat in these trucks?

Installation is generally straightforward and does not require special tools in most cases. Covers are typically cut to fit around existing pedals, shifters, and mounting points, and many are held in place by weight, existing floor fasteners, or trim pieces. Some installations may require temporarily removing seats or trim panels to get a proper fit, so it is a good idea to review any included instructions before starting.

Can I get these floor covers in different colors or styles to match my interior?

Many floor covers and mats are available in a range of colors, such as black, gray, or tan, to coordinate with different cab interior schemes. Availability varies by product, so be sure to check the color and style options listed for each specific item before placing your order.
