Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner SD 108-122 Windshield, Wiper-Roof Acc

What kinds of products are included in this category?

This category covers windshield, wiper, and roof-related components for Freightliner SD 108SD and 114SD trucks, including items such as windshields, wiper arms, wiper blades, wiper motors and linkage, windshield trim and moldings, roof fairings, and related roof-mounted hardware. If you are looking for a specific part not listed, feel free to reach out to our team for help locating it.

Will these parts fit my specific Freightliner SD model and year?

Freightliner made changes to cab and glass configurations across different production years of the 108SD and 114SD, so fitment can vary. We recommend checking the listed year range and part number on each product page and comparing it to your VIN or the part number on your current component before ordering. If you are unsure, our team can help confirm fitment before you buy.

Are these OEM parts, aftermarket, or a mix of both?

Our inventory includes both genuine Freightliner OEM parts and quality aftermarket alternatives. Each product listing specifies whether the item is OEM or aftermarket, along with the manufacturer, so you can choose based on your budget and preference for original equipment versus a cost-effective replacement.

Do windshields and glass come with any installation instructions or require professional installation?

Windshield replacement typically requires proper tools, urethane sealant, and experience to ensure a correct, leak-free fit, so we generally recommend having glass installed by a qualified technician or glass shop. Smaller components like wiper arms, blades, and trim pieces are usually straightforward enough for most drivers or fleet techs to install themselves using basic hand tools.

How do I know if I need to replace just the wiper blade or the entire wiper arm or motor?

If your wipers are streaking, skipping, or leaving unwiped areas but still move properly across the glass, a new wiper blade is usually all you need. If the wiper arm is bent, loose, or not returning to the correct parked position, or if the wipers are slow, stuck, or not moving at all, the issue may be with the arm, linkage, or motor. Inspecting the full wiper assembly before ordering can help you identify exactly which part needs replacing.
