Freightliner FLD SBA Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner FLD SBA Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Will these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories fit my Freightliner FLD SBA?

Products in this category are designed to fit the Freightliner FLD SBA (Set Back Axle) model. However, Freightliner made changes to cab configurations and window styles over the years, so it's important to check the specific year of your truck and compare it against the fitment notes listed on each product page. If you're unsure, our customer service team can help confirm fitment before you order.

What types of products are included in this category?

This category covers glass and glass-related components such as windshields and windshield gaskets, along with wiper system parts like wiper arms, blades, motors, and linkage, as well as roof-mounted accessories such as visors, roof lights, and roof trim pieces. Each product listing will specify exactly what it is and how it's meant to be used.

Do I need to replace the gasket or seal when installing a new windshield?

In most cases, yes. Windshield gaskets and seals can dry out, crack, or lose their sealing ability over time, especially after the glass has been removed once. Reusing an old gasket increases the risk of leaks, wind noise, or the glass shifting in the frame. We recommend installing a new gasket or seal any time you replace a windshield.

Are these parts made of the same material and finish as the original equipment?

Glass components are typically DOT-approved safety glass comparable to OEM specifications. Wiper components and roof accessories vary by product, with options in materials like stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, or durable plastics/composites depending on the item. Check the individual product description for specific material and finish details, since options like chrome versus painted or plastic versus metal can differ between listings.

How do I install roof accessories like visors or roof lights without causing leaks?

Proper installation typically involves using the correct mounting hardware along with a quality sealant or butyl tape at every mounting point that penetrates the roof. Following the manufacturer's recommended drilling pattern (if applicable) and torque specs for hardware helps ensure a secure, leak-free fit. If you're not comfortable with roof-mounted installations, having a qualified technician install these components is a good way to avoid leaks down the road.
