Frequently Asked Questions About Brass Sales

What types of products are included in the Brass Sales category?

This category features brass truck accessories and hardware, including items such as brass switch guards, air valve knobs, light brackets, mirror brackets, and other decorative or functional brass components used to customize the look of a semi-truck. These parts are popular for adding a classic, polished style to a truck's cab, dash, or exterior.

Will brass parts tarnish or require regular polishing?

Yes, solid brass is a natural metal and will oxidize over time when exposed to air, moisture, and road grime, which can cause it to dull or develop a patina. Regular cleaning with a brass polish will help maintain the original shine. Some items may be lacquered to slow down tarnishing, so check the individual product description for finish details.

Are these brass accessories solid brass or brass-plated?

Products vary by manufacturer, so it's important to check each individual listing. Some items are solid brass, offering more durability and a heavier feel, while others may be brass-plated over a base metal such as steel or zinc. The product title and description on each page will specify which type you're purchasing.

Will these brass parts fit my specific truck make and model?

Fitment depends on the specific part. Many brass accessories, such as switch guards or knobs, are designed to be universal or fit standard mounting hardware found across multiple truck brands, while others are designed for specific dash or panel configurations. Always review the fitment notes on each product page, and reach out to our team if you're unsure before placing an order.

How do I clean and maintain brass parts once installed?

To keep brass accessories looking their best, wipe them down regularly with a soft cloth and use a dedicated brass cleaner or polish to remove tarnish and buildup. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can scratch the surface or strip any protective lacquer coating. Routine care will help preserve both the shine and lifespan of the part.
