Hino 238-338 Truck Diesel Fuel Tanks

Frequently Asked Questions About Hino 238-338 Truck Diesel Fuel Tanks

Will a replacement fuel tank fit my Hino 238 or 338 without modification?

Fuel tanks in this category are designed to match the mounting points, strap locations, and overall dimensions used on Hino 238 and 338 models. However, because these trucks can vary by production year and body configuration, it's important to confirm your chassis specifics and tank capacity before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

What materials are these fuel tanks made from, and how do they hold up over time?

Diesel fuel tanks for Hino 238-338 trucks are typically constructed from aluminum or steel. Aluminum tanks resist corrosion well and are lighter in weight, while steel tanks tend to offer added durability in high-impact or heavy-use applications. The right choice often depends on your operating environment and how much weight savings matters for your route.

What tank capacities are available, and how do I know which size I need?

These tanks come in a range of capacities to match different chassis setups and duty cycles. Check your existing tank's capacity or your truck's spec sheet before purchasing, and consider your typical route length and refueling schedule when deciding whether to stick with your original size or size up.

Do these tanks include mounting straps, brackets, or other hardware needed for installation?

This varies by product listing, so it's important to review the specific item description to see what's included. Some tanks ship with straps and mounting hardware, while others require you to reuse your existing brackets or purchase them separately. If you're unsure, our team can help confirm what's included before you buy.

Is professional installation recommended, or can this be done in-house?

Fuel tank replacement involves handling fuel lines, venting, and secure mounting to the frame, so it should only be attempted by someone comfortable working with diesel fuel systems and proper safety precautions. Many fleet owners and independent operators with mechanical experience handle this in-house, but if you're not confident in the process, a qualified technician can ensure the tank is installed safely and sealed correctly.
