Freightliner Cascadia 116/126 Mud Flaps

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner Cascadia 116/126 Mud Flaps

Will these mud flaps fit my specific Cascadia model year?

Our mud flaps are designed to fit Freightliner Cascadia 116 and 126 models from 2018 to present (2024). These models share the same mounting points and fender configurations. However, pre-2018 Cascadia models have different mounting systems and require different mud flaps. Always verify your truck's model year and check for any aftermarket modifications that might affect fitment before ordering.

What material options are available and which holds up best?

We offer three main material options: standard rubber (3/8" thick), heavy-duty rubber (1/2" thick), and anti-sail polymer composite. Standard rubber works well for highway driving, while heavy-duty rubber is recommended for construction sites and off-road conditions. The anti-sail polymer composite is ideal for high-speed highway driving as it reduces flapping and provides excellent durability against UV damage and extreme temperatures ranging from -40?F to 200?F.

Can I install these myself or do I need professional installation?

Most drivers can install these mud flaps in 30-45 minutes per side with basic tools. You'll need a drill with 3/8" and 1/2" bits, a socket wrench set, and the included mounting hardware. The main challenge is accessing the upper mounting points, which may require removing the wheel for easier access. We provide detailed installation instructions with diagrams, and pre-drilled models are available to eliminate drilling entirely.

What's the difference between OEM replacement and aftermarket styles?

OEM replacement mud flaps match the exact specifications and appearance of factory-installed flaps, typically measuring 24" wide x 30" long. Aftermarket options include wider coverage (up to 30" wide), weighted bottom edges to reduce sail, stainless steel accent strips, and custom logo options. While OEM replacements maintain the original look, aftermarket styles often provide better spray protection and personalization options without affecting DOT compliance.

How do these mud flaps handle winter conditions and road salt?

All our mud flaps are engineered to withstand harsh winter conditions. The rubber compounds remain flexible down to -40?F, preventing cracking and breaking. The mounting brackets feature corrosion-resistant coating or stainless steel construction to combat road salt. For maximum winter performance, we recommend the heavy-duty rubber or anti-sail options, and applying a protectant spray every 3-4 months during salt season to extend the life of both the flaps and hardware.
