Ford Aeromax Truck Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Ford Aeromax Truck Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my specific Ford Aeromax model year?

Ford Aeromax cab lights are generally designed to fit the cab marker light locations used across the Aeromax production run, but mounting hole spacing and lens shape can vary slightly depending on model year and cab configuration. Before ordering, check the product listing for specific fitment notes and compare the mounting pattern to your existing lights or cab holes to confirm a proper match.

Are these cab lights DOT compliant and legal for road use?

Most cab lights sold for Class 8 trucks like the Aeromax are manufactured to meet DOT and SAE standards for marker and clearance lighting, including proper amber or red lens coloring and visibility requirements. Look for DOT/SAE markings on the product packaging or specifications to confirm compliance before installation.

What is the difference between incandescent and LED cab light options?

LED cab lights draw less current, run cooler, and typically last significantly longer than incandescent bulbs, which makes them a popular upgrade for reducing bulb replacement frequency. Incandescent lights are usually less expensive upfront and may better replicate the original look on older Aeromax trucks, but they burn out faster and use more power.

How do I install replacement cab lights on my Aeromax?

Installation typically involves disconnecting the truck's power, removing the old light housing or lens from the cab mount, disconnecting the wiring harness, and reversing the process with the new light. Most cab lights use a simple two- or three-wire connection, but always verify wire colors and grounding against your truck's existing setup before making connections.

What lens colors and housing finishes are available for cab lights?

Cab lights commonly come in amber, red, clear, or smoked lens options, with chrome, black, or stainless housings to match different cab styles. Choosing a lens color often depends on the light's position on the cab (front-facing versus rear-facing) and any state or local lighting regulations that may apply.
