Kenworth T800 Gauges & Switches

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T800 Gauges & Switches

Will these gauges and switches fit my Kenworth T800?

Most gauges and switches in this category are designed to match the factory fit and appearance for Kenworth T800 models, but dash configurations can vary by production year and trim level. Its a good idea to compare the physical dimensions, connector type, and mounting style of your current gauge or switch to the replacement part before ordering, or reach out to our team with your VIN or truck year for confirmation.

Are these replacement parts or upgrades over the factory originals?

We carry both. Some products are direct OEM-style replacements meant to restore original function and appearance, while others are aftermarket upgrades offering features like backlighting, additional functions, or a different finish. Product descriptions will note whether an item is a factory-style replacement or an upgraded design.

How do I know if my gauge is faulty versus a wiring or sensor issue?

A gauge that reads inconsistently, sticks at zero, or fails to light up can be caused by the gauge itself, a bad sensor, a blown fuse, or a wiring problem. Before replacing a gauge, it helps to check the fuse and wiring connections at the gauge and sensor, and if possible test the sensor separately. If other gauges on the same cluster are working fine, that often points to an isolated gauge or sensor issue rather than a wiring harness problem.

Do I need any special tools or wiring knowledge to install a new gauge or switch?

Most gauges and switches are designed to plug into existing factory connectors and mount into the existing dash cutout, so installation typically only requires basic hand tools like a trim panel tool and a screwdriver. Some installations may require basic knowledge of reading a wiring diagram to confirm connector pinouts match, especially if youre installing an aftermarket switch that differs slightly from the original.

What finish and lighting options are available for switches and gauge bezels?

Options vary by product, but common choices include chrome, stainless, and black finishes for switch plates and bezels, along with backlit or illuminated switches for improved visibility at night. Check each product listing for specific finish and lighting details, since not every style is available for every switch or gauge type.
