Kenworth T800 Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T800 Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my Kenworth T800 without modification?

Most driving lights in this category are designed to mount using existing bumper or grille mounting points on the Kenworth T800, but fitment can vary depending on the year of your truck and the style of bumper installed. Always check the product listing for year ranges and mounting specifications before ordering, and compare the bolt pattern or bracket style to what is currently on your truck.

What is the difference between LED and halogen driving lights?

LED driving lights typically offer brighter output, lower power draw, and a longer service life compared to halogen units, while halogen lights are generally more affordable upfront. Many customers upgrading an older T800 choose LED lights for improved visibility and reduced maintenance, but both options are available depending on your budget and preference.

Are these driving lights legal to use on the road?

Driving lights are intended as supplemental lighting and are typically used in addition to your truck's standard headlights, not as a replacement for them. Regulations on color, placement, and usage can vary by state and by whether the lights are DOT compliant, so it is a good idea to check the specifications listed on each product and confirm compliance with your local regulations before installation.

How difficult is it to install driving lights on a T800?

Installation difficulty depends on whether the lights are a direct bolt-on replacement or require wiring into your truck's existing harness. Many kits include mounting brackets and wiring components to simplify the process, but a basic understanding of automotive wiring and access to common hand tools is recommended. If your kit does not include a wiring harness or switch, you may need to source these separately.

How do I keep my driving lights protected from road debris and weather?

Look for lights with durable housings, such as polycarbonate lenses or sealed housings rated for outdoor use, since driving lights are mounted low and exposed to road spray, debris, and moisture. Regularly inspect the lens and seals for cracks or wear, and clean the lenses periodically to maintain maximum light output.
