International 9300/9370 DPF & Mufflers

Frequently Asked Questions About International 9300/9370 DPF & Mufflers

Will this DPF or muffler fit my International 9300 or 9370 without modification?

Fitment depends on your truck's specific engine, model year, and exhaust configuration, since International produced the 9300 and 9370 over several years with different engine options such as the Cummins ISX and N14. Always check the part number and cross-reference it with your truck's VIN or existing component before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

Is this a genuine OEM part or an aftermarket replacement?

Our listings typically note whether an item is OEM, OEM-surplus, or aftermarket. OEM units are original components pulled from donor trucks or sourced directly from the manufacturer, while aftermarket parts are built to match OEM specs at a lower cost. Review the product description for sourcing details before purchasing.

Do these DPF units come cleaned, tested, or ready to install?

Used DPF assemblies are generally inspected for physical damage, but soot loading and internal condition can vary. We recommend having any used DPF professionally cleaned and tested before installation to confirm it meets regeneration and backpressure specifications for your engine.

Will installing this DPF or muffler affect emissions compliance?

Diesel particulate filters are part of your truck's emissions system, so using a damaged, incorrect, or improperly cleaned unit can trigger fault codes or cause the truck to fail emissions testing. Make sure any replacement DPF matches your engine's emissions certification and is functioning properly before it goes back into service.

What should I check before installing a used muffler or DPF housing?

Inspect mounting brackets, inlet and outlet diameters, and gasket surfaces for wear, rust, or cracks. Confirm that clamps, bolts, and sensors from your old unit are compatible or included, and replace any worn gaskets or seals during installation to prevent exhaust leaks.
