Freightliner SD 108-122 Headlights

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner SD 108-122 Headlights

Will these headlights fit my Freightliner SD 108SD or 122SD?

These headlights are designed to fit the Freightliner SD 108SD and 122SD model trucks. Since production years can bring minor changes to mounting points and wiring connectors, it's a good idea to check the fitment notes on each product listing or confirm your truck's model year with our team before ordering.

Are these headlights DOT compliant and legal for road use?

Yes, the headlights we carry are manufactured to meet DOT and SAE lighting standards for on-road use. Look for the DOT/SAE markings on the product listing or lens itself to confirm compliance before installation.

Do these headlights come with the wiring harness and bulbs included, or will I need to buy those separately?

This varies by product, so check each listing carefully. Some headlight assemblies include bulbs and connectors, while others are sold as housing only and require you to transfer your existing bulbs or purchase them separately. If you're unsure what's included, reach out to our team and we can confirm before you buy.

What's the difference between LED, halogen, and factory-style headlights in this category?

Halogen headlights use standard incandescent bulbs and are typically the most budget-friendly option, closely matching factory equipment. LED headlights generally offer brighter output, lower power draw, and longer bulb life, but may come at a higher price point. Some listings also include chrome or blackout housing options, which affect appearance but not lighting performance. Choose based on your budget, desired brightness, and preferred look.

How difficult is it to install these headlights myself, and what tools do I need?

Most replacement headlights for the Freightliner SD series are designed as direct bolt-in replacements, meaning no cutting or splicing is typically required. Basic hand tools such as sockets, screwdrivers, and pliers are usually sufficient. That said, always disconnect the battery before working near wiring, and refer to your truck's service manual for torque specs and any model-specific steps.
