Freightliner Century 112/120 Gauges & Switches

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner Century 112/120 Gauges & Switches

Will these gauges and switches fit my Freightliner Century 112 or 120?

Most products in this category are designed to match the factory dash configuration used on the Century 112 and 120 models, but exact fit can vary by production year and dash trim level. Check the listed year range and part number on each product page, and compare it to your truck's original component before ordering to confirm a proper match.

How do I know if I need a replacement gauge or just a sending unit?

If a gauge reads inaccurately, fluctuates, or stays at zero across multiple gauges at once, the issue may be with wiring or a sending unit rather than the gauge itself. If only one gauge is affected and the rest of the cluster works normally, the gauge itself is more likely the problem. Testing with a multimeter or swapping in a known-good gauge can help narrow down the cause before you buy.

Are these gauges and switches OEM or aftermarket?

Our listings include both OEM and quality aftermarket options. Each product description specifies the manufacturer and whether it is an original Freightliner part or a replacement built to match OEM specifications. If matching factory appearance and calibration is a priority, look for parts labeled as OEM or direct-fit replacements.

What tools do I need to install a replacement gauge or switch?

Installation typically requires basic hand tools such as a screwdriver, trim panel removal tool, and sometimes a socket set to access the dash panel. Most gauges and switches are secured with simple clips or screws and connect through a plug-in wiring harness, so no soldering is usually required. Always disconnect the battery before working on dash electrical components.

Can I install these gauges and switches myself, or do I need a professional?

Many customers replace individual gauges and switches themselves since the dash panel is generally accessible and the wiring connectors are plug-and-play. However, if the job involves diagnosing an electrical fault, working around airbag components, or removing multiple dash panels, having a qualified technician handle the installation can help avoid damage to surrounding parts.
