Western Star Constellation Windshield-Wiper

Frequently Asked Questions About Western Star Constellation Windshield-Wiper

Will these wiper and roof accessory parts fit my Western Star Constellation?

Most parts in this category are designed to fit Western Star Constellation models, but wiper arms, motors, linkages, and roof trim can vary by production year and cab configuration. Before ordering, check the part description for listed year ranges and compare it to your truck's VIN or existing component dimensions. If you are unsure, our team can help confirm fitment before you buy.

Are these components OEM or aftermarket replacements?

We carry a mix of OEM and quality aftermarket parts for the Constellation's wiper and roof systems. Each product listing specifies whether the part is OEM-sourced or an aftermarket equivalent, so you can choose based on your budget and preference for original manufacturer specifications.

How do I know if I need a wiper motor, arm, or just replacement blades?

If your wipers are streaking or skipping, the blades are usually the issue and are the least expensive fix. If the wipers move slowly, stall, or do not park correctly, the motor or linkage may be worn out. Grinding noises or arms that do not sweep evenly often point to a linkage or pivot problem rather than the blade itself. If you are not sure which part is failing, describing the symptom to our parts specialists can help narrow it down.

What is involved in installing a wiper motor or roof accessory on a Constellation?

Wiper arm and blade swaps are generally straightforward and can be done with basic hand tools. Wiper motors and linkage assemblies require more disassembly, since they are mounted behind the cowl or dash area, so some mechanical experience or a shop visit is recommended. Roof-mounted accessories, such as trim or marker light housings, typically require access to the roof panel and may involve removing existing hardware or sealant.

How long should I expect these parts to last, especially with weather exposure?

Wiper blades wear the fastest and are considered a routine maintenance item, typically needing replacement every six months to a year depending on climate and usage. Motors, arms, and roof trim are built for longer service life, but sun, road salt, and temperature swings can accelerate wear over time. Regular inspection helps you catch problems before they affect visibility or safety.
