Volvo WIA Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Volvo WIA Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my Volvo truck model?

Volvo WIA driving lights are designed to mount in the factory bumper or grille openings on applicable Volvo truck models. Because Volvo has updated bumper and light housing designs across different model years, it is important to check your truck's model year and existing mounting configuration against the product listing before ordering to confirm a proper fit.

Are these lights DOT and FMVSS compliant for on-road use?

Most Volvo WIA driving lights sold for highway use are manufactured to meet applicable DOT and FMVSS lighting standards. Always check the product listing or packaging for specific compliance markings, and confirm that any replacement or aftermarket light meets the same standards as your original equipment before installing it on a truck operated on public roads.

Do these lights come with the wiring harness and mounting hardware needed for installation?

This varies by product. Some Volvo WIA driving lights are sold as a complete kit with the connector, harness, and mounting hardware included, while others are sold as the light assembly only and are intended to reuse your existing wiring and mounting points. Review the product description carefully to know exactly what is included before you order.

Can I install these driving lights myself, or do I need a professional?

Many drivers and fleet technicians are able to install Volvo WIA driving lights themselves, since the process typically involves removing the old light assembly, connecting the wiring harness, and securing the new unit in the existing mounting location. If your installation requires splicing wires, adjusting bezels, or working with sealed connectors, and you are not comfortable with basic electrical work, having a qualified technician handle the install is a good option.

What is the difference between halogen and LED options in this category?

Halogen driving lights are generally a lower upfront cost and closely match the look and output of older factory equipment, while LED driving lights typically offer brighter output, lower power draw, and a longer service life. Choosing between the two often comes down to your budget, desired brightness, and whether you want to keep a factory-style appearance or upgrade to a modern lighting look.
