Peterbilt 587 Switch Trim & ID Labels

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 587 Switch Trim & ID Labels

What exactly are switch trim and ID labels used for?

Switch trim pieces are the decorative and functional bezels or surrounds that frame the switches on your Peterbilt 587 dash and door panels, while ID labels are the small text or icon labels that identify what each switch controls, such as headlights, marker lights, or wipers. Together they help keep your interior looking finished and make it easy to know which switch does what at a glance.

Will these switch trim pieces and labels fit my specific Peterbilt 587?

Products in this category are designed to match the factory switch layout and dash configuration used on the Peterbilt 587, but trim styles and switch panel arrangements can vary depending on the model year and cab configuration. We recommend comparing the part dimensions and switch cutout pattern against your existing trim before ordering, and reaching out to our team if you are unsure about fitment.

What materials and finishes are available?

Switch trim is typically offered in finishes like chrome, brushed stainless, or matte black to match or upgrade the look of your existing dash and door panel hardware. ID labels are generally made from durable materials with printed or engraved lettering designed to resist fading and wear from daily handling.

How difficult is it to install new switch trim or replace an ID label?

Most switch trim pieces are designed as a direct swap for the factory piece, generally secured with clips, adhesive, or the existing switch hardware, so no wiring changes are needed. ID labels are usually self-adhesive or snap into a designated slot on the trim, making replacement a straightforward task that most drivers can handle with basic hand tools.

Can I use these parts to relabel or reorganize custom switch setups?

Yes, many customers use blank or assorted ID labels to relabel switches after adding aftermarket accessories or rewiring a panel for custom functions. Just make sure the label size and switch trim cutout match your panel layout so everything lines up correctly and stays legible over time.
