Peterbilt 389 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

What kinds of products are included in this category?

This category covers windshield components (such as glass, trim, and moldings), wiper system parts (including wiper motors, arms, blades, and linkages), and roof-mounted accessories like visors, roof panels, antenna mounts, and light bars designed specifically for the Peterbilt 389. These parts help maintain visibility, weather sealing, and the overall look of your truck's cab.

Will these parts fit my Peterbilt 389 without modification?

Most items listed in this category are designed to fit the Peterbilt 389 based on its cab and windshield configuration, but exact fitment can vary depending on your truck's model year and factory options, such as whether it has a flat or curved windshield or a specific roof style. We recommend checking the fitment notes on each product page and comparing measurements to your existing parts before ordering.

Are these OEM parts, aftermarket replacements, or both?

Our selection includes a mix of OEM and quality aftermarket options. OEM parts are built to match factory specifications exactly, while aftermarket parts often provide a more affordable alternative or added styling options like tinted visors or chrome trim. Each product listing specifies whether the part is OEM or aftermarket so you can choose based on your budget and preference.

What should I know before installing a wiper motor, arm, or windshield component myself?

Many wiper and windshield parts require basic hand tools and some mechanical experience, especially when dealing with wiring connections or windshield seals. If you are replacing a wiper motor or linkage, make sure the truck's electrical system is disconnected before starting, and double check part orientation since driver and passenger side components are often not interchangeable. If you are unsure about the process, having a qualified technician handle installation can help avoid leaks or electrical issues.

How do I know which finish or material to choose for roof accessories like visors or panels?

Roof accessories are typically available in materials like fiberglass, ABS plastic, or stainless steel, each offering different durability and appearance. Fiberglass and ABS options are often paintable to match your truck's color, while stainless steel provides a polished, low-maintenance look. Consider your climate, maintenance preferences, and desired appearance when choosing between finishes.
