Mack CV/GU Truck Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Mack CV/GU Truck Dash Knobs

What are Mack CV/GU dash knobs used for?

These knobs are the control handles for dashboard functions such as headlights, panel lights, wipers, heater/AC controls, and other switches on the dash of Mack CV and GU model trucks. They replace worn, cracked, or missing original knobs so your controls look factory-correct and function properly.

Will these knobs fit my specific Mack CV or GU model year?

Dash knob designs can vary slightly across production years and control types, so it's important to compare the shaft size, shape, and mounting style of your existing knob to the product listing before ordering. If you're unsure, checking the part number on your current knob or comparing it against the product photos and dimensions listed on the page is the best way to confirm a proper fit.

What materials and finishes are these knobs available in?

Mack CV/GU dash knobs are typically offered in durable plastic or chrome-finished plastic to match factory dash trim. Chrome finished knobs are popular for adding a cleaner, more finished look to the cab, while standard plastic knobs offer a budget-friendly, functional replacement.

How do I install a replacement dash knob?

Most dash knobs simply pull or pry off the existing control shaft or switch stem and press or snap into place. Some may be secured with a small screw or friction-fit collar. No wiring or electrical work is involved since the knob is a cosmetic and functional cover for the underlying switch, not the switch itself.

Do these knobs include any labeling or symbols for the specific function?

Many replacement knobs are designed to match the original labeling, such as icons or text for lights, wipers, or heat controls, so the cab retains a factory appearance. Be sure to check the product description and images to confirm the knob includes the correct symbol or label for the function you're replacing.
