Kenworth W990 Mirrors & Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W990 Mirrors & Acc.

Will these mirrors and mirror accessories fit my Kenworth W990 without modification?

Products in this category are designed to match the OEM mirror configuration used on the Kenworth W990, including standard mounting arm patterns and bracket positions. That said, mirror setups can vary slightly depending on cab configuration and factory options, so it's a good idea to compare part numbers or measurements with your existing hardware before ordering to ensure a direct fit.

What materials and finish options are available for W990 mirrors and brackets?

You'll typically find mirror heads, arms, and brackets available in chrome-plated steel, stainless steel, and black powder-coated finishes. Chrome and stainless offer a polished, reflective look that many owners prefer for matching factory bright trim, while black finishes give a more subdued, modern appearance. Heated and non-heated glass options are also common within this category.

Do the mirrors include heating elements and motorized adjustment, or are they manual?

Both heated and non-heated mirror glass options are available, along with motorized (remote-controlled) and manually adjustable arm styles. If your truck currently has heated or power mirrors, it's important to select a replacement that matches the wiring and connector setup already in your cab to avoid needing additional wiring work.

Can I install these mirrors and accessories myself, or do I need a professional?

Many mirror assemblies, brackets, and covers can be installed with basic hand tools and are designed to bolt directly onto existing mounting points. However, if your mirrors are heated or motorized, some familiarity with automotive wiring is helpful for connecting to the cab's existing harness. If you're not comfortable with electrical connections, having a qualified technician handle the install is a safe option.

How do I know if a mirror or bracket is compatible with a specific mirror position (driver, passenger, hood, or fender mount)?

Kenworth W990 mirror systems typically include separate components for main door mirrors, convex/spot mirrors, and hood or fender-mounted mirrors, each with distinct mounting hardware. Product listings usually specify which position a part is designed for, so check the description carefully and cross-reference with your truck's current mirror layout before purchasing to make sure you're getting the correct piece.
