Kenworth T700 Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T700 Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my Kenworth T700 without modification?

Driving lights designed for the Kenworth T700 are built to match the factory mounting locations and bezel openings on this model, so they typically install using the existing mounting points without cutting or drilling. That said, always check the listed year range and specific fitment notes on each product, since minor trim changes across production years can affect fit.

What is the difference between halogen and LED driving lights for this application?

Halogen driving lights are generally more budget-friendly and offer a warmer light color, while LED versions tend to produce brighter, whiter light and last longer with less heat output. LED units are also typically more resistant to vibration damage, which can be beneficial for long-haul use. Your choice often comes down to budget, desired brightness, and how long you want the light to last before replacement.

How do I install replacement driving lights on my T700?

Most driving lights are secured with a simple bracket or bezel mount, and you will typically need to disconnect the old light's wiring harness before removing it. Once the old unit is out, the new light usually connects using the same factory-style plug, then it is remounted using the same bracket or screws. If your light kit does not include a direct plug-in harness, you may need basic wiring skills or a wiring adapter to complete the connection.

Are these driving lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Many driving lights sold for the T700 are designed to meet DOT and SAE standards for auxiliary lighting, but compliance can vary by manufacturer and light type. Check the product description or packaging for DOT/SAE certification markings before installing, and confirm that any added lighting does not interfere with your required factory lighting functions.

What housing materials and finishes are available, and how durable are they?

Driving lights for the T700 are commonly available with polycarbonate or glass lenses and housings made from durable plastic or metal, often finished in chrome or black to match factory or aftermarket trim. Chrome housings tend to show wear from road grime and require more regular cleaning to maintain their shine, while black finishes generally hide minor scuffs better over time.
