Kenworth T680 Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T680 Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my Kenworth T680 without modification?

Most driving lights in this category are designed to bolt directly into the factory mounting locations on the Kenworth T680, including the bumper and grille areas. However, fit can vary depending on the model year of your truck and whether it has the factory bumper or an aftermarket replacement. Always check the listed fitment details and compare them to your truck's specifications before ordering.

Are these lights DOT and FMVSS compliant for on-road use?

Many driving lights are designed to meet DOT and FMVSS lighting standards, but compliance depends on the specific product and how the light is used. Driving lights are typically intended as supplemental lighting and should not replace your required headlights or marker lights. Check the product description or packaging for compliance markings before installation.

What is the difference between LED and halogen or HID driving lights?

LED lights generally offer longer lifespans, lower power draw, and better resistance to vibration compared to halogen or HID options, making them a popular upgrade for drivers who want reliable performance in cold weather and rough road conditions. Halogen and HID lights tend to cost less upfront but may require more frequent replacement. Your choice often comes down to budget and how much use the lights will see.

Can I install these driving lights myself, or do I need a professional?

Many drivers install driving lights themselves since the process usually involves mounting the light housing and connecting it to existing wiring harnesses or a relay kit. Basic tools and some familiarity with automotive wiring are helpful. If your installation involves splicing into the truck's electrical system or you are not comfortable working with wiring, having a professional install the lights is a good option to avoid electrical issues.

How do I know if a light housing is durable enough for daily highway use?

Look for details on the housing material, such as polycarbonate lenses or aluminum or die-cast housings, as well as any listed ratings for water and dust resistance. Driving lights mounted low on the truck are exposed to road debris, moisture, and temperature swings, so a sealed, impact-resistant housing will hold up better over time than a lighter-duty option.
