Kenworth T2000 Drive Axle Springs & Hangers

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T2000 Drive Axle Springs & Hangers

Are these springs and hangers a direct fit for my Kenworth T2000?

Products in this category are designed to match Kenworth T2000 drive axle suspension applications, but fitment can vary depending on your truck's suspension configuration, axle capacity, and model year. Before ordering, check the part number against your existing components or contact our parts team with your VIN or truck specs to confirm compatibility.

What is the difference between a leaf spring and a hanger, and do I need both?

The leaf spring is the curved metal component that supports the axle and absorbs road shock, while the hanger is the bracket that mounts the spring assembly to the frame rail. If you are replacing a worn or cracked hanger, you typically do not need to replace the spring at the same time unless it also shows damage, wear, or sagging.

How do I know if my springs or hangers need to be replaced?

Common signs include visible cracks or rust-through on the hanger, broken or shifted spring leaves, uneven ride height, excessive bouncing, or unusual noises like clunking over bumps. A sagging axle or off-center wheel alignment can also point to a worn spring or hanger that needs attention.

Can I install a drive axle spring or hanger myself, or should I have a shop do it?

Replacing drive axle springs and hangers involves working with heavy components under load and often requires lifting the axle, removing torque rods or U-bolts, and properly torquing fasteners to spec. Unless you have the right lifting equipment, tools, and experience with heavy-duty suspension work, we recommend having this job done by a qualified truck repair shop.

Are these springs and hangers new, or could they be used/take-off parts?

Availability varies by listing, and we carry both new aftermarket parts and quality take-off components depending on the specific item. Each product listing will note the condition, so check that detail before purchasing, and reach out to our team if you need clarification on a specific part.
