International Full Radius Fenders

Frequently Asked Questions About International Full Radius Fenders

What are full radius fenders and how are they different from half fenders?

Full radius fenders form a complete, uniform arc that fully covers the top of the tire and wheel assembly, typically extending further down the sides than half-round or quarter fenders. This design gives a smooth, classic look while offering more consistent coverage over the wheel area on your International truck.

Will these fenders fit my specific International truck model?

Full radius fenders are generally manufactured to match the wheelbase, axle configuration, and body style of specific International models and years. Because fitment can vary between single axle, tandem axle, and different cab configurations, it is important to confirm your truck's exact model and year against the listed compatibility before ordering.

What material options are available, and how do they hold up over time?

Full radius fenders are commonly available in materials such as steel, aluminum, and fiberglass or poly composite. Steel offers durability and a traditional look but can be heavier and more prone to rust if the finish is damaged. Aluminum resists corrosion and reduces weight, while fiberglass and poly composites resist denting and rust but can be more susceptible to cracking under heavy impact. Choosing the right material often comes down to balancing weight, budget, and the environment your truck operates in.

Do these fenders come pre-finished, or will I need to paint or coat them?

Availability varies by material and manufacturer. Steel fenders are often sold raw or primed, requiring paint or a protective coating before installation to prevent rust. Aluminum fenders may be offered in a mill finish or polished finish, while fiberglass and poly fenders are frequently sold unpainted, gel-coated, or ready for a matching paint job. Check the product listing for the specific finish included with your fender.

What hardware or mounting brackets are needed for installation?

Most full radius fenders require separate mounting brackets, hardware, or fender braces to attach them to the truck's frame or fender panel, and these components are not always included with the fender itself. Before installation, confirm whether brackets and hardware are sold separately, and verify that any bracket you choose is designed to work with a full radius fender profile.
