International S2200-S2600 Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About International S2200-S2600 Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my International S2200 or S2600 without modification?

These cab lights are designed to match the factory mounting locations on International S2200 and S2600 model cabs, so in most cases they install using the existing holes or brackets. However, production years can vary slightly in trim and body details, so it is a good idea to compare the mounting pattern and lens shape to your current lights or factory service diagram before ordering.

Are these cab lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Most cab lights sold for this application are designed to meet DOT and SAE standards for marker and clearance lighting, but compliance can depend on the specific bulb type, lens color, and how the light is wired and aimed. Always check the specific product listing for DOT/SAE certification markings and confirm your state's regulations before installing them on a vehicle used on public roads.

What is the difference between incandescent and LED cab light options?

LED cab lights generally last longer, draw less power, and resist vibration damage better than incandescent bulbs, making them a popular upgrade for daily drivers. Incandescent lights typically cost less upfront but require more frequent bulb replacement. Both styles are available in various lens colors, so choose based on your budget and how often you want to perform maintenance.

Do these lights come with the necessary wiring and mounting hardware?

This varies by product, so check each listing carefully. Some cab lights include a wiring harness, grommets, and mounting hardware, while others are sold as lights only and require you to reuse your existing wiring and brackets. If a harness is not included, standard butt connectors and marker light wire will typically get the job done.

How do I know which lens color and light pattern is legal for my truck?

Amber lenses are the standard choice for front-facing cab and clearance lights, while red is typically required for rear-facing marker lights in most states. The number of lights and their spacing across the cab roofline should also follow FMVSS 108 clearance light guidelines. If you are unsure, match your new lights to the original factory configuration or consult your state's DOT lighting requirements before making changes.
