International DuraStar Switch Trim & ID Labels

Frequently Asked Questions About International DuraStar Switch Trim & ID Labels

What exactly are switch trim and ID labels used for?

Switch trim panels are the plastic surrounds that frame the dash switches in your International DuraStar, while ID labels are the small printed inserts or overlays that identify what each switch controls, such as headlights, wipers, or marker lights. Together they give your dash a finished, factory-correct appearance and make it easy to identify controls at a glance.

Will these parts fit my specific DuraStar model year?

International made changes to dash and switch layouts across different DuraStar production years, so trim and label shapes can vary. Always check the listed year range and part number on each product page against your truck's dash configuration before ordering. If you are unsure, having your VIN or an existing part number on hand will help confirm the correct match.

How do I install or replace a switch trim panel or ID label?

Most switch trim panels snap or clip into the dash bezel and can be removed by gently prying at the edges with a trim tool to avoid cracking the plastic. ID labels typically peel-and-stick into a designated slot on or around the switch trim. No special tools are required, but working slowly and keeping the dash panel supported from behind will help prevent damage to surrounding components.

What material and finish should I expect?

These components are generally molded plastic designed to match the factory dash color and texture, with printed or embossed labels for durability under normal cab conditions. They are built to replace worn, cracked, or faded factory pieces rather than serve as a heavy-duty replacement part, so expect an OEM-style look and fit rather than a custom finish.

My old label is faded or unreadable. Can I buy just the label without replacing the whole trim panel?

Yes, in most cases labels and trim panels are sold separately, so if your trim panel is still in good shape but the printed text or icon has worn off, you can order just the replacement label. Check the product listing description to confirm whether an item is the label only, the trim panel only, or a combination kit.
