Hino 238-338 Truck Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Hino 238-338 Truck Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my Hino 238 or 338 without modification?

Cab lights in this category are designed to match the factory mounting locations on Hino 238 and 338 model trucks, so they typically install using the existing holes or brackets without cutting or drilling. It is still a good idea to compare the light housing and mounting base dimensions to your truck before ordering, especially if your cab has been previously modified or repaired.

What type of bulbs do these cab lights use, and are they LED?

Most cab lights offered in this category are available in LED versions, though some incandescent or halogen options may still be listed depending on the specific product. Check each product listing carefully, as bulb type affects brightness, lifespan, and current draw on your electrical system.

Are these cab lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Many cab lights in this category are marked as DOT compliant, meaning they meet federal lighting standards for color, brightness, and visibility. Look for DOT or SAE markings on the product listing or the light lens itself, and confirm compliance before installing if you operate in jurisdictions with strict lighting inspections.

How do I wire and install new cab lights on my Hino?

Installation generally involves removing the old light assembly, connecting the wiring harness to match polarity, and securing the new light in the factory mount using the existing hardware. Most cab lights use a simple two-wire connection, but always disconnect your battery before working on the wiring to avoid electrical shorts.

What housing colors and lens options are available?

Cab lights typically come in chrome, black, or stainless housings paired with clear, amber, or smoked lenses. Choosing a finish that matches your existing cab hardware and lens color that complies with local regulations will help maintain a consistent look while keeping your truck road-legal.
