GMC General Truck Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About GMC General Truck Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

What kinds of products are included in this category?

This category covers windshield, wiper, and roof-related accessories for GMC General model trucks, including items such as windshield trim and moldings, wiper arms, wiper blades, wiper motor components, visors, roof light bars, and related mounting hardware. These parts are designed to fit the GMC General cab configuration specifically.

Will these parts fit my exact GMC General model and year?

Fitment can vary depending on the cab style, year of manufacture, and whether your truck has factory or aftermarket modifications. We recommend checking the listed specifications on each product page and comparing them to your truck's VIN or existing part numbers before ordering. If you are unsure, contacting our support team with your truck's details will help confirm compatibility.

What materials are these components made from, and how well do they hold up?

Windshield trim, visors, and roof accessories are typically made from stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, or durable ABS plastic, depending on the specific product. Stainless and chrome options are chosen for their resistance to corrosion and UV fading, making them suitable for long-term exposure to road conditions and weather.

How difficult is installation, and will I need special tools?

Most items in this category, such as visors, trim pieces, and wiper components, are designed for straightforward installation using basic hand tools. Some products may require drilling or the use of existing mounting holes, while others use adhesive or clip-on designs. Specific installation instructions or hardware requirements are noted on individual product listings.

Do wiper components in this category meet DOT visibility and safety standards?

Functional parts like wiper blades and arms are manufactured to maintain proper windshield clearing performance in line with standard safety expectations for commercial vehicles. However, decorative accessories such as visors or trim are not safety-rated components and should be installed in a way that does not obstruct driver visibility or interfere with wiper operation.
