Freightliner Cascadia 113/125 Dash Knobs
Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner Cascadia 113/125 Dash Knobs
Will these dash knobs fit my specific Cascadia model year?
Our dash knobs are designed to fit Freightliner Cascadia 113 and 125 models from 2008 to present. However, there were minor dashboard updates in 2017 that may affect fitment for some knob locations. We recommend checking your specific knob shaft diameter and thread pitch before ordering. Most factory knobs use either 1/4-20 or 5/16-18 thread sizes. If you're unsure, contact us with your VIN and we can verify compatibility.
Are these knobs made of plastic or metal, and how durable are they?
We carry both chrome-plated ABS plastic and solid billet aluminum options. The chrome plastic knobs offer good durability at a lower price point and typically last 3-5 years with normal use. Our billet aluminum knobs are CNC-machined and feature permanent laser etching that won't fade or wear off like painted markings. For high-use applications like the air brake knobs, we recommend the aluminum options for maximum longevity.
Do I need any special tools to install these, and will I have to remove my dashboard?
Installation is straightforward and requires no dashboard removal. Most knobs can be replaced using just a pair of pliers or a small wrench to grip the old knob while unscrewing. Some recessed knobs may require needle-nose pliers. The entire process typically takes 5-10 minutes per knob. Simply unscrew the old knob counterclockwise and thread the new one on clockwise until snug. Avoid overtightening to prevent stripping the threads.
What styles and finishes are available, and will they match my interior?
We stock knobs in chrome, black, brushed aluminum, and color-matched options for popular interior colors. Styles include standard round knobs, diamond-cut designs, and skull or flame patterns for customization. For a factory-matched look, choose knobs that match your existing dash trim finish. Chrome pairs well with most interiors, while black provides a subtle upgrade for darker dashboards. Custom engraving is available on aluminum knobs for fleet identification.
Which knobs typically need replacement first, and can I buy them individually?
The most frequently replaced knobs are the air brake knobs (red and yellow), followed by the fan speed and temperature controls due to constant use. Yes, all knobs are sold individually so you can replace only what's needed. Common issues include stripped threads, cracked plastic, and worn markings. We recommend keeping spare air brake knobs on hand as DOT inspections may cite damaged or illegible brake control knobs as violations.
